BUT! the Kurds also paused from this effort to fight along side the same Syrian Army to crush an ISIS cell discovered in some remote valley. And then, together, they drove Turkish forces out of a Syrian village in the north. So....the Kurds and the Syrians are allies vs. ISIS and the invading Turks, but then fight each other. This is nuts!

Turkey is a member of NATO, but they are not acting as a member in Syria and are instead pursuing self-interests. The US is allies and "friends" with both the Turks and the Kurds and yet we are not stepping up and putting an end to this fighting between them. This is not good.

In political news, it looks likes the Kurds will lose a lot of seats in the Iraqi Parliament in the pending May 12 election. If this happens, the Kurds will not be represented and things are likely to turn against them. I don't think the Kurds will go quietly into the night.... civil war looms in Iraq, and it will get nasty, which will ultimately be an opportunity for Iran and Russia and other bad players to grab more of the region.

We need some strong leadership in this, and soon.
The Biblical prophecy of Ismael, the son of Abram (Abraham) and his wife's slave/handmaiden Hagar. He is the seed and father of the Arab race now Islamic/muslim. As prophesied about Ismael, He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."

However, Isaac was Abraham's true and first son (seed of the Jewish race and heir) of the Godly marriage with Sarah.

    Genesis 16:11-12

11"The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery".

12 "He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."

Wow! Israelis annihilate Persian forces in southern Syria. Early reports state a combined armored and air assault virtually destroyed all Persian units who HAD been stationed along the border. So far 23 Persian soldiers are confirmed dead, with many more missing (and in tiny little bits!).

Israeli tanks crossed the border and took up positions on a ridge overlooking Persian rocket bases. In the pre-dawn darkness, using their night vision targeting systems, the Israelis opened a sustained barrage on the Persian bases, drawing a reaction from both local Syrian units (loyal to Assad), and Persian units. The Syrians, upon learning it was the Israelis attacking, withdrew, apparently to leave the Persians to fend for themselves. About the time an armored company of Persian troops, with light tanks and APVs, began to get organized for an attempted counter-attack, the Israeli jets appeared and wiped out the bad guys.

Tehran has released a statement acknowledging the attack, and the reported results, and said it was practicing restraint. Of course....they have nothing left in southern Syria to respond with!

    Re: Good Guys Strike Back!

There WERE 50 separate rocket batteries destroyed by the Israelis. Those Persian-built rockets (thanks to the $150 billion obummer gave them, and that is confirmed intelligence) are not very technical. They are more terrorist weapons, rather than precision military weapons. Still, killing civilians is not a good thing, and militarily they can be dangerous, even if it's a lucky shot. US Army Intelligence has released "some" info on them, but obviously not everything we know.

Still, can't blame the Israelis for taking them out. And more importantly, destroying the three technical control centers which do (did!) pose a threat if more accurate rockets were in place. Which, the Persians have. Russian-built ground-to-air and ground-to-ground missiles that could strike anywhere in Israel, especially if launched from southern Syria, in a matter of seconds. Even the Patriot Defense System would be hard-pressed to destroy all the in-coming missiles. The Persians are smart not to deploy their best weapons that close to Israel. They wouldn't last long enough to unpack 'em from their crates.

    Re: Good Guys Strike Back!

BTW, read an article (I subscribe to several military history magazines) on the Israelis' crushing defeat of the arrayed Arab forces...this was the 6-Day War, back in 1972, I think. Whew! memory is fading...Anyway, at that time, due to a STUPID peace-movement led by Israel's version of libtards, the Israeli military was at a low point. Many of their jets and tanks had fallen into disrepair and enlistment was down. After all, if we would just be nice to our lunatic sworn enemies, why, they'll be nice to us too. Er, right?

One Israeli colonel, commander of a tank battalion, knew better. He and his men would scrounge spare parts from other units, even buy some on the secondary market, and kept their tanks operational....and ready. When the Syrians launched their massive attack...some 400 Soviet-built tanks, supported by other armored vehicles and some 20,000 infantry...this one tank battalion, with 48 tanks, and support infantry, moved out to meet the threat. The Israelis knew the country, the terrain, and had trained on that very ground for just this scenario. Divided into three companies, of 16 tanks each, the Israelis deployed on the high ground to block key passages and roads. At dawn the Syrian units appeared making a dash to capture those key passages and roads. Nope!

By the afternoon, those key points safe and secure, the colonel took 8 tanks and moved out to scout the valley over the ridge, where he figured an army that size was using as a staging base, re-supply, etc... he was right. It was a turkey shoot. Syrian tanks....gasoline trucks...other vehicles....all parked in a nice, neat row...perfect for target practice. It was wanton slaughter. Those 8 AMERICAN-built tanks wreaked havoc...

It would not all go Israel's way. Other Syrian units, supported by other Arab nations' units, and Egyptian forces posing a threat from the other direction, spread the depleted Israeli forces into a dangerously thin line. The Arabs broke through in two places and were racing toward Tel Aviv and toward Jerusalem too. The Israeli high command ordered a consolidation of troops to defend those two cities. The Israeli Air Force owned the skies, for the most part, but they were out-numbered 4 to 1 and were being kept very busy. They could not provide the kind of ground support their army needed. So! his sector secured, that colonel mounted up and took one company, 16 tanks, racing toward the biggest threat, the break through threatening Tel Aviv, and the encirclement of Israel's army there. Listening to radio traffic, reports pouring in, he picked the critical point, a bridge over a ravine, that had to be denied the invading Arab forces. He blasted his way through a Syrian column, got into the desert....where he knew the ground would support the weight of his tanks (he knew the terrain well), and they put the hammer down speeding to get ahead of the Syrian column moving on the road...toward that key bridge. Arab jets appeared and he lost two tanks before Israeli jets drove off the enemy fighter-bombers. A Syrian unit, with light tanks, had gone ahead and was holding the bridge, but they were under attack by two Israeli attack helicopters and a platoon of Israeli infantry. The colonel threw his 14 heavy tanks into the fight and Syrians were quickly destroyed/driven off. There was no time to celebrate. As quickly as possible, the colonel surveyed the terrain and placed his 14 tanks were they could cover the approach to the bridge. A mere 30 minutes later, a combined air and ground assault hit his position. It looked desperate when the colonel learned his relief column of 8 tanks, and supply trucks, had been driven back and would not reach him that day. He told his tank gunners to "make every shot count" because what you got with you, is all you'll have today. In a horrific tank-to-tank battle, the Arabs lost 37 tanks destroyed and another 114 damaged and driven off. The Israelis lost none, but all 14 tanks had sustained damage. Two had been rendered unmovable, but their commanders reported their turrets still worked and they still had shells left.

The war raged on, along a 100-mile front, it got desperately close....very close! Had ALL the Arab forces in the vicinity attacked with the same ferocity the Syrians had....Israel would have lost. Two days later, citing supply issues, Arab forces began to withdraw. The Syrians did not. They fought on in their sector. On that bridge and crucial highway, that colonel and his battered men and tanks got welcomed news. Relieved by reserves, the rest of his battalion was racing to his aid. They surprised a Syrian tank column advancing across the desert, attempting to flank the Israelis at the bridge. Instead, they were hit in the flank. The 30 Israeli tanks annihilated the column, and then the rest of the Syrian army had had enough too. At first they fell back 20 miles, but still inside of Israel. When their Arab allies refused to launch attacks, the Syrians realized that was it, and retired back across the border. NEVER again would the Arabs come close to taking Israel by military force.

Israeli politicians who had advocated down-sizing the military lost badly in the next elections. The bleeding-heart libtards had nearly cost the very existence of their nation. It was a very, very close thing. Historians, reviewing the records, say had the Arabs not paused on Day Three, they would have swept into Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. But they hesitated just long enough to allow the beleaguered Israelis to mount a defense.

And that colonel....all his battalion did was stop that huge Syrian Army virtually on their own. They started with 400 tanks....and returned to Syria with fewer than 50 still operational. That Israeli battalion entered the fight with 48 tanks, lost two in combat, and had another 7 "junked" because they were beyond repair.

It was the Yom Kippur War of 1973. In all Syria deployed 1,400 tanks and Israel had a grand total of 180. In that sector of the fighting, the Syrians had 408 tanks vs. 48 Israeli tanks.

Because it's a promise and prophecy from the Lord God Almighty to Israel.

Isaiah 54:17 New International Version (NIV)

17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
    declares the Lord.

The entire "running start" and promise from
    Isaiah 54

    15

    15 If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;
whoever attacks you will surrender to you.

16 “See, it is I who created the blacksmith
who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
    And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;

17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
    declares the Lord.

Over night the Israelis struck Hamas rocket batteries located in Syria. The attacks completely destroyed 17 batteries, and greatly damaged dozens more. The Israelis mean business and hold nothing back. They don't hamstring their military with stupid "rules of engagement." That actually saves lives. For instance, last month when the Israelis took out those Persian rocket launches, the Syrians, at first rallied their forces, but upon learning it was the Israelis attacking, they retired (ran away!) That saved many hundreds of Syrian lives just that night! They KNOW the Israelis don't eff around.

    Re: Good Guys Strike Back!

    And Russia backed off.

US threatens "firm action" for a Russian-led Assad-Hizballah offensive against Daraa
    DEBKAfile Special Report
The Trump administration delivered an unmistakable military warning to Moscow and the Assad regime on Saturday, May 26, to hold off from their big offensive to capture the southeastern Daraa region and reach the Jordanian border. The US would respond to such "ceasefire violations" with "firm and appropriate measures," State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, after Assad government leaflets were dropped on Deraa urging US- and Jordanian-trained and armed rebel fighters to disarm. Washington believes that the offensive was promised Russian military support. For Israel, it would pose a threat to its Golan border from its next objective, Quneitra. The State Department spokesperson called on Russia to "exercise its diplomatic and military advantage over the Assad regime to stop attacks and compel the Assad regime to cease further military offensives" for "broadening the conflict." Otherwise, the US would respond with "firm and appropriate measures," recalling the US marine and air attack in February that forced a Russian-enabled Syrian advance across the Euphrates to fall back with heavy casualties.
