About a month ago I posted a quote from a NATO observer who commented on the seemingly precarious position our 2,000 troops were in, in eastern Syria (along side our Kurdish friends and allies). The combined forces of Assad's Syrians and his Russian allies dwarfed our meager forces there.
"Why don't the Syrians and Russians attack the Americans, with such a decided advantage in men and equipment?"
NATO observer: "Because they would be utterly destroyed."
US Special Forces and Afghan troops captured an ISIS base, considered their "capital" there, killing 160 ISIS scumbags, and capturing another 200+.

Iraqi court sentences 13 ISIS scumbags to life in prison. Part of an on-going arrest/trial/sentencing process in the Iraqi justice system.
If you're like me, you might be saying, "life in prison"? Just shoot those bastards in the head and use them as hog feed. Wait...Muslims...hogs? Anyway, you get the point. Why allow them to live, albeit in prison? (unless they have something special planned for 'em). The news' wires are full of such stories, of ISIS scumbags being arrested and then tried in court. There have been a few death sentences, usually reserved for ISIS leaders, not the rank and file.
I searched and finally found an article with a commentary on this. An Iraqi judge defended the courts handing out prison sentences, some of them not life sentences, but usually 10-20 years. He said, and I see his point, the brutal, barbaric actions of ISIS must not cause the nation of Iraq to become as ISIS is. Otherwise, you are just as bad as them. Well, as long as the ISIS leaders and those who participated in the brutality are sentenced to death, some of the others can be treated fairly.
Early on, a lot of the rank and file in ISIS were professional soldiers, and they conducted themselves accordingly. Treating POWs okay. As well as can be expected. It was the extreme extremists who mistreated the POWs. What am I saying....mistreated? Brutalized them, murdered them, in gruesome ways.
One of my favorite videos is the one where there's an ISIS scumbag in a cage, on the back of truck. The Kurds had just kicked ISIS's azz in a battle and had some prisoners. The Kurds were kind of milling around, waiting on orders to move out, or whatever, and the ISIS dude was crying like a baby, begging for mercy. A Kurdish officer walks over to him and tells him to shut up, stop his whining. The officer is seen speaking to him and the ISIS dude is listening intently. Then suddenly, he falls backwards, screaming hysterically. The officer walks over to the guy with the camera, who is part of a media group, and he is grinning widely. The officer is asked what happened, and with a huge smile, he says, in his best English, "I told him not to worry. He would be treated just like ISIS treats its prisoners."
That is funny. But, it is also NOT funny. ISIS was/is murdering scumbags. You have heard many of the evil things they did. You may not have heard it all, depending on how tuned-in you have been. But, it is beyond disturbing. I'm not sure if there is term that correctly captures just how brutal/evil ISIS was/is.
Fortunately, ISIS is losing everywhere. They have been virtually eliminated in Iraq. Are holding on in a few isolated cells in Syria, mostly out in desert valleys. And their recent attempts to gain a foothold in Afghanistan have resulted in total military disasters for them. ISIS is now strictly a terrorist organization, reduced to small pockets here and there.
Watching CNN News to learn about FACTS is like watching Green Acres to learn about farming!!!!!

Nigerian troops attacked and destroyed a Boko Haram base. Reports say 16 bad guys were killed, many more wounded/captured, and the rest scattered into the hills. Boko Haram is one of the moooslim groups engaged in the slave trade, of black Africans, and often the villagers resist, or try to, and there are many people killed during these raids.
Notice....no one cares. Why? Well, for one reason the targeted Africans are all non-moooslim, often they are Christians, and there is no immediate political clout to be gained by caring. A Confederate flag flying over a monument represents a "clear and present danger" to blacks here, and shows how racist our society is. But, actual slavery, in 2018, no problem at all!
Anyway, the democrapic hypocrites aside, it is good to see the Nigerian government organized and fighting back. I saw a short video of the opening of an attack, from about 6 months back, and the Nigerian army goes in, with helicopter gunships spraying .50 caliber bullets, and ground troops firing machine guns and they don't give any quarter. Saw a couple of the Boko Haram scumbags backed up against a wall, they drop their weapons and try to surrender, but the Nigerians were not interested in that....vroom! two machine guns open up and practically cut those scumbags in half. They shoot on sight, period.
Thanks for posting this one.
