I bet Tech will sell at least 7K more tix than UTSA for the LSU game. At $45 a pop, that's $315,000 in extra ticket revenue for LSU by playing Tech. And that's just ticket sales and doesn't include all the other revenue streams.

Didn't realize that. Looking at their attendance figures, it looks like they come at least within 3K of a sellout regardless of opponent. But there are thousands upon thousands of empty seats for their non-conference games. I guess they have 10-20K fans who buy tickets for most of those non-conference games but then don't show up on game day. Last time we were down there the Tech fans just about outnumbered the LSU fans by the 4th quarter.
Tech has been the only stepchild team in the state to sell it's allotment plus more tickets. Some are proud of that fact.
In 2009 several LSU fans told me at the game how impressed they were with the size of the Louisiana Tech crowd. It was bigger than their other OOC opponents.

Yeah, I couldn't even get tickets through Tech's allotment. I had to buy our tix on the secondary market to sit amongst the purple and yellow, and after the mass exodus of LSU fans after Tech took the lead going into the half, the Tech fans outnumbered the LSU fans in our section for the second half.
How much do Tech fans contribute to L$U by buying tickets to the game?
