Thanks. I understand that the first Don's was in Morgan City. If there was a family split it might have been amicable after a while. Cousins opened Landry's all over the place. As far north as Shreveport and at least two in Texas - Beaumont and Houston. At least when the Houston locations closed Floyd had a non compete agreement, but it must have applied only to him as Don's continued in other locations. Eventually the Don's in Houston was the basis for the Landry's Seafood. After his non compete expired Floyd Landry opened Floyds. I have been to at least two locations and the food is up to the old Don's quality. I had never been to any other Don's so I can't really comment either. As far as Landry's I believe Pappas is better - Pappadeaux, Pappasitos (Mexican), and Pappas seafood (not Cajun).
