Can a non-coach (i.e. consultant) still be active in recruiting?

Depends on your definition of the word active.

Interesting. My first thought is that Orgeron and Juluke didn't get along. At one time he owned the toe of the boot when it came to recruiting. Did they lose somebody this year that they were expecting to get? I assume they had him recruiting the greater NO area?

COYHCSH will hire him back in a heart beat.

I wonder why Orgeron waited until the day after signing day to assign him a different job???

Holtz should have done the same thing to Baker.

It's still really early...but the speculation in BR (per local ESPN radio) is that this move was likely made based upon a long-term outlook of Juluke's recruiting capabilities. Perhaps Orgeron has someone else in mind who he thinks is better. Maybe he thinks he can hold down the fort in Nola and wants to diversify his staff. We'll probably know more in a few days. If Tech could get Juluke back, that would be a good thing in my opinion.

Good for recruiting. He gets credit for developing Dixon, but we all know that's a stretch. He is a great recruiter.

I wonder if lsu is just putting him on the shelf in order to make the new hire, then will put him back on staff when the extra coach can be hired...

We know Dixon was already a stud (broke national freshman TD record) before Juluke came along. Seems LSU may have found out Juluke is nothing special as a RB coach and Dixon made him look good, who knows. Maybe he is good at recruiting but the way Coach O spoke in the article attached above, he wished the both well in the future... doesn't sound good for Juluke. If he comes available, would he be someone we really want back? Maybe only because of his recruiting of S. La. I don't remember, was Juluke specifically stated as a major influence in any stud recruits coming to Tech? He may have been, just don't remember.

Rumor has it that Orgeron doesn't like ball caps to be worn backwards.
