Nobody in DFW is dropping $500,000 or more to host a tourney when UNT, UTSA, and Rice have some of the worst basketball programs and worst basketball support in C-USA. Also C-USA East and UAB, which is a majority, will never vote for DFW. It's pointless to push for DFW.
It would be much better for Tech for Bossier City to host the tourney, and that has a much better chance of happening than DFW.
Outside of Bossier City, I think our best bet is teaming up with MTSU, WKU, and USM to push for Memphis to get the tourney out of Birmingham. MTSU and WKU tried to team up to get it in Nashville, but it didn't work because the SEC and OVC already own Nashville for their conference tourneys. There has to be a compromise location to get a couple C-USA East schools onboard to get the tourney out of Birmingham, and I think Memphis is that location. It's also a basketball town with great facilities and good tourism options that's not too big that it won't get noticed by the locals and the media, and it's central to C-USA's geographic footprint.
