My concern is that if you eliminate anyone that has actually achieved anything in the private sector from gaining high posts in the government, you end up with nothing more than stupid bureaurats that have never had to actually achieve anything or community organizer types that have done even less.

I am no great Trump fan, but think thus far he has been doing rather well. He is a workaholic that is results oriented, so what you see is what you get. I just hope the idiots out there that have been ruining the country - the MSM and the dems - don't cause him to just give up and do nothing. The government is far more dysfunctional than private industry could ever be.

You don't have to eliminate these people. Every private citizen other than Trump has found a way to make this work when they assumed a public role. Rex Tillerson just did it, too. It doesn't require giving up your wealth, but - make no mistake - this is and should be a position that is exclusively about service - and you should be willing to take on some level of self-sacrifice to take it on.

For a person of Trump's self-touted wealth, the Presidential salary would never have been a factor. He stands to make magnitudes more than that just in the free advertisement of his brand during his Presidential term (probably already has).

The kicker will be if he secures deals that benefit his companies, directly or indirectly (through special concessions for his businesses in other countries). That is where actual and perceived corruption cause the harm.

Again, where was the outrage for what the Clintons did? In peddling their influence they just demanded straight-up cash.

I am against that, too. But they are no in office anymore.

Yes, not now. But anything they did seemed fine with mainstream media at the time.

Actually, I mostly agree with what you are saying. There have to be lines that you don't cross. But this country has gone crazy in the last decade, IMO. Right and wrong have become passe'.

I understand the frustration about the double standard. That said, not busting the Clinton's for wrong-doing doesn't justify Trump's wrong doing. Hypocrisy doesn't invalidate an argument. The media can be hypocrites AND Trump can be wrong.

Some will always choose to believe Trump is corrupt and that the real reason he wanted to be president...to improve his wealth.

His actions in the first 4 weeks are built around what he SAID he would do and the reason many of us voted for him instead of the satanic Hillary.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but the first 4 weeks have been a cluster#%^* of screw-ups. Massive incompetence and failure of leadership.

But I don't want to distract this thread about corruption and Nic.

Hardly. More like failing to realize how far the socialist democrats would go to stop the Trump agenda. Example: The executive order that was ruled against was poorly written, but written almost EXACTLY like Obama had written his. Not incompetence at all. Not being afraid to fail is hardly a sign of incompetence it is a sign of great leadership and success.

Keep watching CNN for more examples of "cluster#%^s" The fake news network is never completely accurate.
