First goal of every season should be
1) CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
2) TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP (odds greatly increased by goal 1)
3) NCAA TOURNEY
But that's just my line of thinking - CHAMPIONSHIPS MATTER in my book
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
This season isn't over, though. Is that comparing OSU from this time last year, or their final position? Because I'd imagine that at this point in the season they'll have a number of good teams left on the schedule that might bring their ranking up (depending on how they play, of course).
I'll admit I don't know much about that ranking, but I assume we won't really be able to compare our win to FAU's until the season is over.
LA Tech needs another Big Time "Play of the Day" on ESPN. Something like THIS!

What about this one?

Thank you!
It really bothers me when our fans and media basically write off the regular season as "meaningless" and say "the conference/NCAA tournament is all that matters." "One-bid league." Blah. Blah. That's all BS. There's a lot more to college basketball than the NCAA Tournament. The regular season does matter. Championships matter. NIT bids matter. 20+ win seasons matter. Accolades matter. That is how you to build and continue to grow a program, its reputation, and its base of support.
I agree. The thing is, the people know it. Our most exciting and well attended games have been late season conference home games and the NIT home games. The Central Michigan NIT game comes to mind. Everybody was disappointed we were there, but the TAC was on fire. I almost prefer an NIT home game or two instead of a NCAA tournament appearance. Just give us some semi-relevant live sports entertainment in North La for goodness sake.
I almost agree. I brought this up back then and referenced the past NIT games in the TAC. My question then (I believe) was related to being an NCAA 15 or 16 seed facing a 1 or 2 vs. an NIT game or two extra in the TAC. Of course if we get a 12 seed it changes the line of thought and yes, extra units for CUAB are always a plus.
I do know for sure that charging a premium for a product that nobody (including Tech Grads) really know about is bad business.
We need to get into the tourney to break that dang 26-year drought.
Good old Memorial Gym
I know how y'all feel. To an extent, I feel like the NIT is almost a better gig because in the NCAA tourney, more than likely we're going to lose at some point, probably early enough that we don't garner much interest. With the NIT, besides getting an extra home game or two, we at least have a much better shot of actually winning the trophy. Last two trips we made the quarterfinals. Just play a little better and we're in a final four.
Of course, at the same time, we really do need to at least make an appearance in the big dance, preferably win a game.
