So much for precision marching. It's Mardi Gras!
Hope they had a good time.
St. Aug's high school band marched in two parades today, Mid-City and Bacchus - they do roughly 10-11 parades in this seven day stretch leading to Tuesday. But, those poor kids, most of those high schools in the area rely on these parades to help fund their programs throughout the year.
huge props to those kids. Not trying to take away from what they do, but i'm sure they practice for that kind of stuff. The BoP has never practiced parade marching in my 3 years here due to not being that kind of band, so something like a Mardi Gras parade is something that noone here is prepared for. Heck, most of us died a little in the short marches from the Band Building to the Joe and back this past season.
If you've ever marched from band building to stadium area and back, you've gone up hill both ways.
Six steps to five yards.
