No Beat Writer for LaTech

Yes, page 1A...not even a sports story, but full of fake news. Our story was on page 6 of the sports section. nlulm did make page 1 of the sports section with a loss to Lafayette.

It doesn't just happen. The peeps who get paid the big bucks are responsible for grooming the relationships with the media. Our AD doesn't understand that his job is more than just attending political events with those who choose to cut our funding.

I don't know that it does. I don't read the paper any more. I am shocked when I go to homes and see newspapers.

We get a highlight on the SC Top 10 a few times a season right now and when it happens it gets linked by CUSA on their Facebook page and on ours. Then I share it and everybody I know, even LSU fans, comes in the next day and says "yeah, that 360 dunk was awesome, thanks for sharing". We need to continue to push the media people actually pay attention to. To me our biggest failure isn't the lack of a beat writer. It is the lack of QUICK turnaround on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook content. It has been MUCH better this basketball season but it was pulling teeth to get good highlights after football games this past year.

I especially agree on quick turnarounds on video content. Big plays need to be all over the internet within two minutes.
