The Times is probably fine as long as you don't expect to read any actual news. But, if you are going to settle for feature stories and fluff pieces only, you might as well subscribe to the Homer Guardian Journal. That way, at least you'll know when Tech77 celebrates his 100th birthday.

I missed the crossword, jumble, and Snuffy Smith, so I got the online deal. I skim and look at the enewspaper just like I did back in the day. $10 per year

You guys have Gannett. We in Houston have Hearst. All Newspapers are about the same. The New York Times tries to sell subscriptions but they don't have comics. I quit the Chronicle when they decided they could charge any random amount they wanted. It was up to abut $40/month but changed their rates willy nilly. "Oh, we included a special section that week and forgot to tell you we charge extra for that." And the "special section" was more often than not just advertising.

Exact same tactic here in San Antonio with the Express News. I dropped them for their dishonesty in trying to push their paper. You left out the ploy where they say the price went up midway through your subscription when I had already paid them for a full year. I think they use the same company across the nation to sell their papers. I have quit getting the paper to just see what ridiculous opinions they are trying to pass off as news and see the sports section (the only difference in the SA sports section is that they support UTSA and the SPort sports doesn't).

I dropped the dead tree editiion and told them to convert my annual subscription to the epaper only. I think I got 5 years left on the epaper now. Oh . . . . and the dead-tree is still thrown daily.
