She got a lot of students through math. And was one of the many reasons Tech built a well deserved positive reputation for student retention decades ago. She just didn't give up on anybody.

Same here. I wasn't bad but wasn't great at math in high school and not very confident. Halfway through my first freshman math class Mrs. Lambright was teaching, she pulled me aside and told me I ought to take the CLEP tests for the next two math classes. She told me if I could pull it off, and she thought I could, it would be better for me to move on and get to more important classes quicker. I followed her advice and got out of the balance of my freshman math & English classes.

That she would take the time and go out of her way to encourage me confirmed the decision I made to come to Tech instead of the school in Baton Rouge where my older brother and sister were enrolled. Mrs. Lambright was a great lady and a great teacher.
