It's too easy to make fun of Orgeron.
Hahaha check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-42m0L4ITf4
Ogeron tried the "Bear Bryant" approach when he was at Ole Miss. He worked his players' tails off in training camp and by mid-season every year, they were all so worn down that they could no longer perform at a high level. He says he won't do that at LSU. We'll see. Some people actually do get a little wiser with age, but as is often demonstrated on this forum, some do not.
Bryant had better athletes to start with. When I said the "Bear Bryant" approach, I was referring to the Bear's early years at A&M, where half his team would barely make it through training camp. In later years, even Bear Bryant learned that you had to leave enough gas in the tank to make it to the end of the season.
For what it's worth, I was quoting Ogeron himself. In an interview with the Baton Rouge Advocate during LSU's coaching search, Ogeron said he ran too tough a training camp while at Ole Miss, and that his teams had no legs by mid season.
