He applied before MW was hired and after he left but his years here were not fruitful as an assistant if I remember correctly.

Yes I just couldn't remember if he pre-dated LLLLLLLLLLoyd and had some success or exactly who brought him in.

How could he have thought Tech would hire him? "Not fruitful" is a bit of an understatement, eh?

Keller's stint at Tech was his very first job as an assistant coach (g/a, actually). Hard to judge a rookie g/a coach's "fruitfulness", wouldn't you say......the glory and the blame always goes to the h.c., as it should.

Later, he was an a.c. under Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State, Bill Self at Kansas, and then Billy Kennedy at Texas A&M. Perhaps he was more "fruitful" as an a.c. after he got away from J. L.........................d ??

I'd say he's been quite "fruitful" this year, so far, in his second year as a head coach -- at S.F. Austin. Best I remember, he won at the TAC this year, and then shortly thereafter, beat the corndogs down in tiggerville, and then lost by 1 point at Missouri. Looks pretty "fruitful" to me. 16-4 record this year, so far.

I wasn't referring to W-L. Regardless of any success he's had since, I believe the "optics" alone of his role in our NCAA probation would have prevented Tech from considering him.
