Jonathan Washam opened the eighth with a bloop single to left. Parker Bates laid down a sacrifice bunt to move him to second and a ground out moved, the pinch-runner, Mason Robinson to third. Jordan Washam made his brothers hit count, lifting a single to left field to score Robinson and tie the game at 1-1.

Yes he has and the play was "text book" with two 2nd string guys filling in where needed.

The Bulldogs and the Mavericks will be back at it tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark.

Is the game today at 1:00 or 2:00? We have reported both. I guess I can go check out the UTA site.

UTA returns to action with the second game of the series on Saturday, hosting the Bulldogs at 2 p.m. CT at Clay Gould Ballpark.

Jordan Washam made his brothers hit count, lifting a single to left field to score Robinson and tie the game at 1-1.

The bunt was the right call if you only want to score 1 run, which Burroughs was trying to do playing for the tie. But that's risky to do as the road team when the home team still gets an opportunity to walk-off in the bottom half of the 9th with just 1 run. After getting into a jam in the bottom half, we ended up needing and getting a double play to save us to send it to extras. Glad it worked out last night.

Glad to see they re wrote the article to show Matt Miller as closer last night. Not sure our baseball SID was at the game. Our AD is probably making him pay his own way.
