    Re: CUSA Tournament

My picks (and some strange ones)...

    First Round:
    UAB over N. Texas
    Charlotte over Marshall
    UTSA over Rice
    ODU over UTEP

    Second Round:
WKU over UAB (but only by 10)
Lady Techsters over Charlotte by 7
    Middle over UTSA handily
    ODU upsets Southern Miss

    Third Round:
Lady Techsters upset WKU by 2
    Middle beats ODU by 4

    Finals:
Lady Techsters let go and blast Middle out of the water by 14

Some big upsets and of course I have to go with the Lady Techsters!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, some of this is hope more than prediction. ODU had a bad game yesterday (Thank goodness). I think they are much better than how they played, though, and UTSA played out of their minds. ODU could easily make it to the finals, IF they play their game. If they do, they can beat Middle.

As for us, every game will be a challenge. We can beat Charlotte, if we play our game, though. WKU would be a stiff challenge, but if we play to our strength, it is possible. We may be worn out by the time we play in the finals, if we get that far. We have a young team, but that Southern Miss loss may be the catalyst that we needed to play out of our minds in the tournament. That is my hope, anyway.

Brooke gets Coach of the Year. Sims at ODU gets Player of the Year.

And of course, Champ would have us beating Baylor on the way to taken off UConn.!
Now, back to reality, Should we beat Charlott again, anyone think we would be a lock for the NIT? What about the possibility of a loss to Charlott, still have a chance at the NIT?
The NCAA would be incredible, and any thing is possible!

Oh come on........ I have UConn going out in the second round and Baylor in the first.

I think the chances are slim for WNIT, unless we reach the CUSA finals, though.

Yea, at this point we can't *lock* the NIT, reaching the finals would provide a good argument but not a lock.

Amazing........ I knew they were in the finals, but that is shocking. They have dropped a few this year.

I am pulling for North Texas - just because..... UNT up by 7 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Would love it if UAB gets knocked out of the women's and men's games today.
