It's a big week for LA Tech sports. The 11-1 Diamond Dawgs travel to Miss State for a single game on Tuesday, and then go to Arkansas St for a 3-game series in Jonesboro later this week. Meanwhile, both the Lady Techsters and the Dunkin Dawgs will play 3 games each later this week as they BOTH advance and win their respective CUSA basketball tournaments.

If we beat CUAB in Birmingham, then I'll get excited. I still don't understand why the friggin thing has to be there every year!

In the city and conference's defense, I believe Birmingham was the only city that bid for it this year. This is only the third time it's been there this century, and it's closer for more schools than if it goes back to El Paso. Rumor is only Birmingham and El Paso have bid for the 2018 tourney, so I'm almost hoping it'll be in Birmingham again next year. Apparently, North Carolina is lacking sporting events over some political nonsense, so maybe UNC-Charlotte will submit a bid

For comparison, it was in Memphis half of last decade when Calipari had a perennial top-20 team. Now that was an unfair setup!
