Does anyone know why no one seems to agree on which number we actually are?
NCBWA says #25. Ell Aye Tech says #27.

Guess I missed the misleading tweet, too. I only saw the one below. It seems a stretch to blame Tech because BTB, TNS, or others published inaccuracies.

It wasn't after the season ended. We played 9 more games after that ranking. But I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
I don't recall ever being ranked last season. I only recall getting votes.
Outside of the after season #27, that is.

That is the misleading tweet. They deleted the incorrect tweet claiming we were ranked #23. That tweet is misleading because they are saying we are ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 1986 when most people assume all rankings are Top 25 rankings. That leads most people to think that was the first time we were ranked since 1986, which is the incorrect headline the media (BTB, Times, TNS, KTBS) published. Since Tech was at least ranked No. 27 last year, a better way of announcing the news would've been to say it's our highest ranking since 1986.
I'm not "blaming" anybody, but it's pretty clear Tech's SID was misleading, which led to all the inaccurate headlines.
Let's just remember we were ranked last year. That's all. I don't like when some try to sensationalize everything as the first ever or biggest since because it's often misleading and diminishes our history by judging the past based on today's standards (and is sometimes flat out false).
Now the 1986 vs. 1987 is another story. Does anybody know which year it's supposed to be?
