And then there were 3.
And then there were 3.
😱
Marshall shot lights out in our game. Those percentages are more than defense. It was a lot of luck that doomed us.
We probably would have beaten ODU and I know we would have matched up better with the MUTS.
I'm just tired of the drought like everyone else. It sucks and so far we haven't done much to change it.
I think the idea of getting a one and done mercenary transfer like the MUTS have done is interesting. We have used this tactic in Football for a couple of years with good results. The MUTS scheduled and built this year to reach the tournament. Winnable OCC schedule with decent RPI, POY 1 year transfer, bad C-USA.
Thoughts?
Middle TN isn't shooting 5 of 23 settling for a 3-point shooting contest like Tech did. They are taking it to Marshall PHYSICALLY and playing great defense. There is no doubt who is the best TEAM in C-USA.
MTSU's 1-3-1 zone trap was very good early in not allowing Marshall shooters to get into a rhythm. They were picking up the shooters way out on the floor. To Marshall's credit they eventually adjusted and have hurt MTSU with dribble penetration.
I heard the announcers say that Marshall shot 37% on 3-pointers for the year, but only 27% in 2 games against MTSU so MTSU knows how to defend them.
The other main differences I see in tonight vs. our game yesterday is MTSU is not turning the ball over much and they are getting better calls, and noncalls, from the officials.
They are also pushing the ball in transition. Making Marshall run the court.
Have you considered those Dogs?
Good adjustment by Marshall to start the 2nd half putting the shooters in the corners against the 1-3-1.
Marshall's pulled within 3.
Wow, where were these officials yesterday?
MTSU's bigs much better at covering 3 point shooters off the picks than we were.
I hope MTSU wins against Minnesota... good for Conference.

MTSU as a 12 will beat Minn, a 5. It happens at least twice every year.
