.The Town Talk and two other Gannett newspapers in the region will cut publication schedules to three days a week, according to sources connected with the announcement. In addition to The Town Talk, Gannett's newspapers in Opelousas and Hattiesburg were also affected.
The Town Talk wasn't worth reading when I lived there 34 years ago.
Can't see as I'd miss anything if all the Gannett newspapers went to 0 days per week. Used to read the obits, but now all the funeral homes post them on their own sites.
People still read newspapers? Why?
I finally broke it. The Chronicle was charging about $40/month and I mean about. They would charge whatever suited them. I don't even read their free on line edition.
I get it. I dropped the Times 4 or 5 years ago after a long period of aggravation with their politics & lack of Tech coverage. I just like reading a newspaper. Now if the Advocate ever comes to the north end of the state I might subscribe to them. But given the unchanging nature of Gannett I don't see ever going back.
Monroe and Shreveport dropped Teddy Allen's column last week. "Belt-tightening", they told Teddy.
That just about did it for me picking up the dead-tree edition.
