They offered nothing even before then. Hillary had a lot more baggage than most are willing to admit. If the Democrats could find a reasonable voice (without all the baggage) they should be able to mount a challenge. The problem right now is finding someone that is not a crazy person. Hillary for all her flaws was at leas palatable in her presentation. The emails, Clinton foundation, her husband, Benghazi, etc. let you know she was as corrupt as the next person, but she knew how to handle herself in most situations. The real problem for Democrats in 2020 is despite his faux pas in dealing with foreign leaders, his economic record is very strong and most people will care more about that. His tariffs may derail the economy though. Time will tell.

Yet here we were discussing how he blew the press conference yesterday.

Well, he IS the president. What Hillary would've done is immaterial. He will be the president for the next 6 years (IMO), so why wouldn't we call him out when he does something stupid.

If hacking was easy to stop, my brother, and his entire company, would have to find something else to do. But, his point in his most recent email is, while hackers are very clever, often setting traps and using deceit to try to lead anti-hackers off on a wild goose chase, they are also creatures of habit, or more accurately have a certain skills' set they rely on. My brother says he (and his company) can readily identify hackers, hacking sources, i.e. those who have collaborated together before and/or who get their "minnows" from the same place.

While he has no first-hand knowledge of these Russian hacks, he does say they are most surely the same as others, and they leave "finger prints" all over it. And, firewalls can be set up to look for these "finger prints" that will set off automatic defensive measures, and! create a counter-tracking program to trace back to the origins of the hack attempt. So, yes, hackers are sophisticated and motivated and anti-hackers have to be equally so.

On a related topic, the DNC was hacked in 2016. That is 14 years after the FBI says, by its own admission, they KNEW about the Russian hackers. I am not blaming the DNC per se, even though others have said their firewalls were dated and weak, making them an easier target. But, it might have helped if the FBI had shared their intelligence about Russian hacking with the DNC, the RNC, and any other political organizations and urged everyone to take steps to protect against said hacking. And!!! if Krooked Killary had won, none of this would have seen the light of day and we, the public, and the political establishment, would still be unaware of the Russian hacking to this extent, and that it has been on-going since 2002 (at least).

All the cyber security in the world doesn’t do any good if someone, from a mailroom worker to the Informartion Security Officer clicks on the wrong link, downloads the wrong file, or plugs the wrong device into a networked device.

I wonder if Trump also “misspoke” in his private meeting with Putin. What a joke.

Trump’s personal edits to his “walk back” today. Lol @ the need to write “there was no collusion” as if he couldn’t remember that talking point by now. But the striking through of the line about bringing the guilty Russians to justice.... Wonder which of his advisors will be unhappy with that edit.

Yeah, I think I used that excuse back in elementary school when I got in trouble. I meant to say wouldn't not would. Basically I meant to say the exact opposite of what I said. He didn't want to tick off Putin and now that they are not face to face he wants to change the story.

Can you imagine the briefing with the national security team when Trump told them what he said and what Putin said in the private meeting? How much stock do you think his team puts into Trump’s characterization/description of the meeting?

Shocking that Trump would even “consider” whether to hand over former US Diplomats over to Putin for questioning. That request should have received a swift, definitive “no”.

Question for the day - Do you think Putin realized that getting Trump elected would cause Republicans to stop seeing Russia as an enemy state?

Did they realize the American right wing was so idealogically malleable?

Answer for (yesterday)-Trump Derangement Syndrome. Luckily for you, it has a cure. Simply place both hands beside you head and push with your arms as you pull lean back. Your head should pop out.
