Then the part of Obama’s response that is quoted:

There’s no evidence that that has happened in the past, or that there are instances in which that will happen this time.“
And there remains no evidence that the voting was rigged in 2016. Russia was engaging in a vote influence campaign and not a vote rigging campaign then.
Trump didn’t think - nor did he ever say - that RUSSIA was trying to vote rig the US election in 2016. He was arguing that folks in the US were going to try to keep him from winning by intimidating his voters or otherwise try to keep them from being counted.
