Regarding McConnell, I think he should have held hearings to try to come up with a health care plan that would fix what is wrong with our system: high costs and climbing. That means being bi-partisan. McConnell's fault was that he thought he could ram-rod a shoddy backroom republican plan thru the Senate. The truth of the matter is that Obamacare repeal and replace was just a smoke screen for YUGE tax cuts for the top 1%. Nothing more and nothing less. Trump's tax "reform" package just went off the road doing 90 mph.

As for Dirty Harry, he lives a couple of miles from me in Anthem Country Club. Nice clubhouse and each house is billed $450 a month for food whether they eat it or not.

Whether the Republican plan was shoddy or not is irrelevant to my point. McConnell allowed the process to play out. He follows the rules and traditions of the Senate as envisioned by the Founding Fathers. If he had played the same hand as Dirty Harry, we'd have obummercare repealed and something else in its place right now....whether that "something else" was better, not better, or whatever.

The Senate is different than the House. And, as I've mentioned, it is different for a reason. The Founding Fathers were brilliant and purposely established this legislative structure. Yes, it can be painful at times, and very, very frustrating. Dirty Harry is the azzhole in this picture. He's the anomaly, the one who spit on the traditions of the Senate and went against the designs of the Founding Fathers. If you're a libtard you are willing to forgive Dirty Harry such transgressions because he pushed a libtard agenda. The end justified the means. But libtards would be going berseck if McConnell did EXACTLY the same thing to push a conservative agenda.

Fact is, the "Republicans" (some in name only....on both extremes) have too tight a majority with just 52 seats. Not enough margin of error to accommodate the "moderates" on one end, and ultra-conservatives on the other end. We've seen this play out in LIVING COLOR (as they used to say back in the day on TV). The HC bill was too libtard for those on the far right, couldn't support it. If McConnell and the Senate leadership tried to appease them, the 6 (R) "moderates" would oppose it. With the 48 democraps doing as they always do "goose-stepping in perfect lock step" (or else being found having committed "suicide") there was no, one plan that could possibly pass the Senate. It's not like a handful of 'crap Senators would break ranks and join the (R) moderates and get a bill passed that a concensus could/would vote for.

Well, it is YOUR fearless leader, Trump, who proclaimed to the world that he wanted everybody covered and that he wanted the best health care system in the world.

He said also that he knew how to cut health care costs because he was a master negotiator.

Dems controlled both houses, had all the committee chairs and just ramrodded it thru. And then although promised ample time to read it, the dems brought the bill to a vote in like 48 hrs. Probably fading memory. Really doesn't matter what the history of Obamacare is because Obamacare is the law of the land and the American people like it. There is no excuse for the republicans to pass a health care bill that denies tens of millions of Americans basic health care merely because they want to give huge tax breaks to the super-rich. The whole health care system needs to be re-worked but the republicans are not up to the task.
