Should Tech accept a pay-for-play CBIT bid?
Should Tech accept a pay-for-play CBIT bid?
No. But we will.
No
not at all.....
I liked the Vegas tournament we did a few years back. Not preferable, of course, but can get some more play time for this young team.
You guys crack me up. As if Tech basketball is some elite program that is "above" some pay-to-play tourney. We are a mediocre program that hasn't danced in 26 years. There are 200 programs better than us, year after year. And even lousy programs who actually have more success, from time to time. Get over yourselves.
So, should Tech accept ANY post season tourney? Yes. Provided Konkol plans to use it to get the youngsters additional practice and playing time. Given that, there should be NO QUESTION about Tech getting whatever post season tourney we can get. Want to get better? Do you? Do you want Tech to shake off this mediocrity? Well then, MORE practice and MORE games is the answer.
Yes, and push for hosting.
Time to spend our limited resources focusing on baseball.
I'm in the no category.
Our wins were against swac teams and mediocre c-USA teams. (The c-USA isn't very good)
It was a mediocre season, let it go.
This is a harse rebuke, but spot on. Our record was 4-9 against teams in the top 200 RPI. 19-1 against teams 200+. Do we need more practice? I agree with a resounding yes. I was very hopeful heading into the conference tourney, but I suppose I was misleading myself looking at the 23 wins and not accounting for who they were actually against.
Use the $50K or whatever we're gonna spend buying into a crappy tournament to-
1. UPGRADE OUR WEAK SCHEDULING NEXT YEAR and
2. recruit players who can defend inside and out for three consecutive days vs decent competition.
