What a great Friday. At least the baseball team split.
After enduring watching the Dunkin' Dawgs and the Lady Techsters lose, I wanted to SEE Tech Baseball pummel someone, so I subscribed to Arky State's digital network. That didn't work out so well; paid $8.95 to see us choke.

Walks and HBPs are going to happen, but, SIX WPs and PBs at the D1 college level is just ridiculous.
Lady Techsters Softball run-ruled Charlotte yesterday 8-0 in 6 innings in each game to start the season 2-0 in C-USA.
Did not say anything about choke or horrible.
Tech is an extremely good team and two loses is not a big deal. Just pointing out a big contributing factor to the loss.
if we are a "really good team" and I hope we are then the truth will be in pudding with wins against ULL and USM next week. When we play Miss State and Arkansas teams, do they throw best pitchers at us? The point being, is it the same type quality win as us beating them in basketball?
Choke might have not been the right word to use, but it was very disappointing seeing us play WAY beneath our expected level of play. Just hope we get back on track for Game 3.

Did we go out of our way to throw our best at them? Outside of the sicknesses messing up who pitches what day, it was pretty set wasnt it?
We will see how good of a team we have in June. Baseball is the most inclusive sport as evidenced by Coastal Carolina, Fresno State, Cal Fullerton (x2) and Pepperdine all winning national championships in the last 25 years. Football and basketball championships are won by Power 5 conference teams or Big East basketball schools. I hope we have a great baseball team this year who makes the NCAA tournament and makes some noise once there. Wouldn't it be great to play in Omaha this year? But that is a long time away. I will enjoy the regular season for what it is and hold final judgement until the last game is played. I got too caught up on the 23 wins in basketball this year only to be disappointed when the games counted most.
You must not follow Tech basketball much. That's pretty much a yearly occurrence.
Just a slow learner I suppose. But I keep hoping this might be the year we actually break through in the tournament. 129 wins over 5 years and zero trips to the big dance. Weird thing is I will be hopeful next season will provide the break through season. Of course I was at Tech during the last Jerry Loyd year. Look that one up. This team was the 95-96 Bulls compared to the last Loyd team.
At least Jerry Loyd's teams danced....TWICE!
