We were due to come out on the wrong end of one of those games - had snuck by with a W in 3 or 4 already - baseball always has a way of evening things out
You win 63% of your games and you are golden
You bat .300 and you are HOF material

Losing a game in baseball is like losing a quarter in football...
Actually, it is less than a quarter.
BTW - no love from Baseball America in this weeks poll

Just saw that.. we aren't ranked at all. Yet they still have ULL ranked and they have not played anyone and have 4 losses. When we beat them Wednesday night, they will probably stay ranked and will continue to not receive any respect. I have no idea what it takes to be ranked by these guys. Our RPI ranking is 5!!!
Still #24 in the Coaches Poll...

This can be a BIG rpi week if we take care of business...

25th in Baseball Writers poll (last week).... I have not seen it yet, but DFM is saying we moved up to 23rd this week.

Good old Memorial Gym
All we can do is continue to play good baseball every week and let the chips fall where they may. Really looking forward to the Southern Miss series this weekend!!
USM (#47) is Tech's last home game series vs a high rpi team. Charlotte is #30, but we play them on the road.
I don't think most Tech fans realize how big this USM series is to our rpi and postseason seeding.
Beating high rpi teams is much more important than losing a game here and there to low rpi teams.
People. It's March. Conference play hasn't started. RPI is crap right now. It's not about what RPI is today. It's about what RPI will be after conference tourneys are over. The sample size is way too small right now, and the data points are biased and not yet connected. RPI is an archaic formula that should be thrown away, but it is the most important factor for the baseball selection committee. But it's really early in the season when the RPI numbers are pretty much bogus. RPI is about SOS, SOS, and SOS. In the end regarding the formula, a loss is calculated as a loss no matter which team it is to. We just need to take a series-by-series approach. It's unfortunate we didn't get to play a rubber match at Arky State, but maybe we get to replace it with a better game.
