If Barkley gets much bigger he's gonna need his own zip code.
Well, at this hour I've picked 25 of 29 games correctly, including MTSU's win over Minnesota. That's currently good enough to put me in a 4-way tie for 2nd. Sportdawg leads the pack having picked 27 of 29 correctly.
Michigan St sure looked good tonight. The Spartans dominated the ACC's Miami 78-58. For years I've been saying Tom Izzo may be the best "tournament coach" in the business.
Other teams looking impressive during the 1st round: Arizona, Gonzaga, Duke, Baylor, Florida, Kansas, Oregon, North Carolina and Cincinnati all won their 1st round games in convincing fashion.
The Pope is sitting in last with 3 of 4 final four teams eliminated.
I'm watching with the volume muted. What's up with Northwestern...
- Elaine?
- The kid crying on TV?
- The non calls...A guy stuck his hand through the rim to block a shot and it was not called?
...and just in case Middle had a chance, the refs don't call a foul on Milddle for over 15 seconds...corrupt SOBs!
The officiating this year has been as bad as I've ever seen it. Missing the obvious and making calls where there is no foul.
Officials have cost me at last two games so far (MTSU and St Marys) and saved one (Zaga).
I am shocked at how poorly the ACC has performed. Only ACC teams left are Duke and UNC, both of whom I have in the Final 4, with Duke winning it all.
Okay....so now I'm in 2nd place, chasing only "Nate". But Nate has a possible point production of 166 points, to my possible 169. So it is POSSIBLE that I could catch him and declare victory. But there's also a few people behind us (Bulldawg Tom, Dawgpix & Sportdawg) with even higher point ceilings. Hmmmm........
I thought Arkansas got shafted on the officiating.
