To be fair, those aren't FBS/I-A Bowls, which is what most people assume when you say "bowl games." If you look on Winsipedia it lists only 9 bowl games for us, and anywhere you see our bowl record it doesn't count non-FBS bowls.

I see your point, but I also see why they would make the claim, as it's true if you only count FBS.

Each of those records are equally praise worthy. Each were accomplished against competition that was comparable and were coined "bowl games" when they were played. I would however have to say that the early 70's teams were more dominant at their level of competition.

Was that the case from BVDV to TMac? Seems a lateral move. BVDV had the excuse of being the puppet of DR and TMac has the excuse of total inexperience.

Our current AD has done some things right. He gets credit for those things. He has also bungled a long list of things hurting Tech Family who give the smaller amounts to LTAC and those who can't afford luxury seating or travel to away games. His obvious snub of the "lesser fans" could be seen by some very early on, but it has become much more obvious now. Not taking part in the post game Alma Mater is a perfect example that he lacks people skills and is a tad arrogant.

I believe that Skip Holtz could be the best Louisiana Tech AD ever. The man has connections with basically everyone in college sports. He is very friendly, likeable, outgoing,... Holtz is also very fair and genuinely concerned with helping others overcome obstacles.

One of these days when I have some time, I'm going to do some research on what other universities have done with "grassroots" fund raising campaigns in the last 5 - 10 years. Maybe no one hits that very hard.

If anyone has any info on that already, I'd be interested in seeing it.
