For me to root for Mike White and the Gators tonight when they keep mentioning where he came from? Is publicity a good thing or a great thing?
His team is what I hope Tech will be some day. Bad start, but nice finish to the first half.

Did you root for White while he was here? If you did, why would you root against him now? He did a very good job here, earned himself what he thinks is a better job and left our program better than he found it. He has been sucessful so far and good for him! That is the American way.
Dooley, on the other hand, probably didn't have as much on the field success, got lucky in getting another opportunity being Tennessee's fourth or fifth choice (a panic hire). We all know how that went down. A little harder to be happy for him. I often wonder if he wishes he would have stayed a few more years here to see greater success before jumping at the first opportunity out of town.
Did Mike White take one of Tech's signees with him to Florida? (Leon)
Did Mike White try to steal a Tech player? (Stapleton)
Did Mike White try to steal another Tech signee? (Jean)
That's a quarter of Tech's roster White tried to steal. Mike White attempted more harm to Tech upon departure than any other recent Tech coach. I'm not rooting for him.

Who recruited these players coming out of high school? Was it....oh, I dunno, Mike White!? He thought enough of them to recruit them, but he's suddenly not suppose to think they can perform at a DI program like UF? Really? Or, would you prefer him to say, those guys are good enough for Louisiana Tech, but not good enough for Florida.
With some exceptions, recruits go where they feel a connection to the coach(es). Yeah, there are kids who want to play at a certain school, and will try to go there regardless who the coach is. Is Louisiana Tech such a program in MBB?
How can Mike White "steal" a recruit, when the kid was White's recruit? Seems to me Tech stole that recruit, if the school refused to give him a release.
You people need to grow up.
Tampering is an NCAA violation.
Then there's this thing called ethics. Maybe you haven't heard of it.
And these weren't recruits. These were Tech signees and a player on our roster. All three guys bound themselves to Tech.
And Tech didn't steal anybody. Tech gave Leon and Jean full releases. Only Stapleton was blocked from going to Florida because of White's tampering but was allowed to transfer elsewhere (Moo State).

This week the University of Washington released the number one basketball recruit from his scholarship after they fired their coaching staff so he could follow an assistant coach (his father). Our AD refuses to allow a bench player to follow the coach who recruited him. The Washington AD has confidencein his coaching staff's ability to recover from losing the number one recruit in the country. Our AD wonders if we can recover from losing a sixth man. Tommy is only in his 30's, we could have to deal with the lack of confidence for another 30 years or so. We do not have to worry about some P5 school stealing him away anytime soon.
His ambition alone will move him along. He's crawling out of his skin. He'll take an AD spot at a CUSA or AAC school, or a Asst AD position at a P5, or a conference asst commish. And his pitch will be that he accomplished stuff in spite of lil' ol' Tech and lil' ol' Ruston. I give it 1-2 more years.
As for Mike White ... I'll follow with casual interest. If he succeeds, great. If he doesn't, no sweat off my back.
Congrats to Mike White and his Gators. Great run...and he's not done yet!
I dont wish him luck.
I dont wish him bad luck.
He's not our coach. He has nothing to do with Tech at this point in his career.
Hell of a finish for White's Gators last night in OT.
