Yep. You won't win many ball games hitting into a double play virtually every inning.
Hard to take when you had baseloaded, pitcher just walked a player, and you decided to hit on the first pitch you saw to get into a double play.
FINALLY an RBI single with a runner in scoring position!!!!!!
This team doesn't have the killer instinct
Then we load the bases AGAIN and strand every one of them AGAIN. You can't make this stuff up! Amazingly horrible batting WHEN IT COUNTS THE MOST!!!!!
Hit into 4 double plays and have still left 12 on base through 7.
PLEASE get this Markum guy out. I think he has single-handedly scored more runs than all of our batters combined!
Well, we've left this game in the hands of the umpires all game. If we don't want to be screwed by an ump don't strand the loaded bases twice and hit into a double play every other inning.
Hard to keep the excitement when you lose 6 out of last 7 against conference opponents.
Wow. Just wow. What an epic, epic collapse. Not this game alone, the whole debacle.
Turns out it was no pitch, so it didn't matter where the ball landed. Timeout was called.
Still bad umpiring because when timeout is granted, the home plate ump should act like he is evacuating the stadium to make it obvious there was no pitch.
So who called timeout? The pitcher pitched, the batter batted, the fielder chased the ball, base runners ran the bases. And the coach got tossed.
1-6 in C-USA... 0-4 in C-USA play at home... At Rice on deck... Will this team even qualify for the C-USA Tournament?
Apparently the claim is Washam called it. But that makes no sense. If he called time, it's because he wasn't mentally prepared to hit the ball. If he called it, he'd be even less prepared. So how would a completely unprepared batter hit a perfect strike to right field that brings home a runner from first?
Probably didn't impact the outcome of the game, but at the same time that easily could have taken the air out of our team and killed any hope of late magic. Now we'll never know.
