Congrats to the Tech powerlifting club on winning this year's national championship!
Been a while since our last, right? How many is that total?
I think this makes 19. Last one was in '10
WOW!! Awesome!!
I can remember years ago back in the mid 90's there was a section in the Sunday News Star called USA Weekend (I think). At one point Arnold Schwarzenegger had this write in column where he would answer a question or two about fitness or weightlifting or whatever, I don't know. Anyway, long story short in one of his answers he suggested that the person he was responding to should check out Louisiana Tech University because they had the best program in the country. He also mentioned some other school but it's been over 20 years and I've forgotten that one.
hey nlulm, our national championship team can beat up your national championship team . .
Posted Thursday by Dr. Les Guice: Congratulations to our National Champion Powerlifting team. Go Bulldogs! I hope that all of our fans and friends will help this team go compete for the world championships soon. This will be our first ever team participation in world championships.
It's pretty cool they honored Tech powerlifting founder Dr. Billy Jack Talton at the ceremonies Thursday.

I'm still in awe of the Miller Lite cans in the background. I miss my Tech days.
Lift Powerlifting to South Africa
Louisiana Tech University Powerlifting Team won its 35th National Championship! The Irondawgs placed 1st in the Men's Open division at the 2017 USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships. This brings the championship back to Louisiana Tech and is a huge victory for the university and the entire state of Louisiana.
Next, our team of 10 lifters and 2 coaches need your support to compete at the 2nd Annual University World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa on July 6-17. Our funding goal of $15,000 will be used for hotel fees, airfare, transportation to and from the airport, uniforms, participation fees (entry, drug testing, and closing ceremony), luggage fees, travel insurance, and meals for this historic opportunity for Louisiana Tech Powerlifting. This will be the first time an invitation to compete at the world level has been offered for an entire Louisiana Tech Powerlifting team. Many individuals have competed at the world level throughout the history of the team, but never a complete team. Louisiana Tech University has an opportunity to gain global recognition for a sporting event with a solid team of lifters.
