It was a Friday game. They got tons of free promotion from the community, gave free tickets to high school students and other community members, and shamed almost every local school to change their games to Thursday. All this following a win over a bad Arkansas team and a close game over a bad Auburn team. They then lost this (claimed) SRO game to an average Baylor team. 75% of those in attendance that Friday have never been back.
My two cents, SE: go. It's a very underwhelming gameday experience, but go support the Golden Eagles. If you need tips on where to stay/eat in Monroe, let me know. Lived there for forvever until i got a job in Little Rock.
Monroe is coming along culturally, but the football team there... eh..
Save your time and money - USM should easily win and USM will have more fans in the stadium than ULM. As a previous poster stated, if you like LSU Football then a ULM football Saturday is the place for you. It really is a sad place for a college football game.
Bossiers CenturyLink Center envy. good luck with that mayor Mayo. I wouldn't be sure that the phrase, "build it and they will come" really applies in this case. If you build a lager more modern facility, its gonna take a larger group to take care of it. mo money mo money mo money
Leave Monroe alone PawDawg. I like it just the way it is. My house value in Sterlington has risen about $60000 since 2011. I think Mr Mayo is doing a fine job
