    Harvard Study on Media Bias

Fox News is the only news outlet that is close to being fair and balanced. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/...nst_trump.html

That is more of a function of the fact that Trump has done more stupid things than smart things.

“The fact that Trump has received more negative coverage than his predecessor is hardly surprising,” the Harvard report says. “The early days of his presidency have been marked by far more missteps and miss-hits, often self-inflicted, than any presidency in memory, perhaps ever.”

Just goes to show how intentionally deceptive right wing sources are.

Harvard is not a right wing organization. They are the ones that did the report.

American Thinker. It misrepresented the Harvard study.

That poll is on several other sites and it's the same on every one. Why would they want to misrepresent it? It's pretty self explanatory and about what I would expect.

The study doesn't claims the data shows bias.
    https://shorensteincenter.org/news-c...0a9d-189799085

Here is how the study synthesized the issue of bias:

"Have the mainstream media covered Trump in a fair and balanced way? That question cannot be answered definitively in the absence of an agreed-upon version of “reality” against which to compare Trump’s coverage. Any such assessment would also have to weigh the news media’s preference for the negative, a tendency in place long before Trump became president. Given that tendency, the fact that Trump has received more negative coverage than his predecessor is hardly surprising. The early days of his presidency have been marked by far more missteps and miss-hits, often self-inflicted, than any presidency in memory, perhaps ever."

These right wing sources misrepresent the Harvard report because they know they readers won't double check their misrepresentations because it conforms to their bias.

Now compare what the Harvard Study says with what American Thinker says:

"Harvard study: Extraordinary media bias against Trump"

This is the type of distortion you get every day from conservative outlets whether it is Rush, Foxnews, Breitbart, infowars, WND and so on. Most people read this and when it conforms to their bias, they accept it, believe it, and it falsely influences their view of the world.

The mantra that Foxnews is a conservative outlet is really getting old. It is barely conservative when you include all the non-news folks.

Any network that employs Geraldo Rivera, Shepard Smith, Julie Roginsky, until he showed his true liberal colors Bob Beckel, Juan Williams, Kirsten Powers and others is hardly a right wing outlet. They may seem that way to you because they are more balanced than any other network out there, but they really do present both sides of an argument.

Thinking they are conservative shows how brainwashed you really are. Baaa Baaaa. What conforms to your world view, hypocrite? Do you even see that you have a false view of the world?

We have to be really careful of Fox News "falsely influencing our view of the world."

Re: Harvard Study on Media Bias

My view of the world is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to the right of FOX News. Actually, I watch FOX only because it reports real "news." Problem with morons like Goosestep is he is so brainwashed, brain dead really, by his leftist view is he is incapable of grasping reality. So, just one more time, for the very slow out there....FOX News has "news" and it has "commentary." Hannity has said only a gazillion effing times he is NOT a journalist. He says that on both his radio and his TV shows. He states, "I have a conservative bias." Same thing with Tucker Carlson, and the other commentators. But they are NOT the journalists on FOX. On FOX you get the "news" just the facts, here's what has happened, etc... and you get commentary, which has a right-wing spin. But, at least you actually get "news".

Rush is the best at doing this. He always cites his sources, gives the listener an unfiltered report and then he spins it. For example, Rush will quote a report, like recently he read from Reuter's report on the crime in Chicago. He read directly from the report and cited his source, the date the report was published, if there is a name associated with the report, he will tell his listeners, this article was written by Joe Blow...and then Rush puts his spin on it. In this case, Rush blamed Chicago's libtard mayor Ralm Emmanuel (whatever his name is) and linked him to obummer. Now, if the listener chooses to not believe the report, then their beef is with the source, not Rush. And, since I know many of you don't listen to Rush, he cites sources from across the political spectrum. He is always citing Huffington Post, "the huffing and puffing" post he calls it. So, no, he doesn't limit himself to just conservative sources.

There is no such separation on CNN and the other leftist propaganda networks. They try to pass off editorial commentary as "news." The worst offense by the lefty networks is the omission of news. If it reflects poorly on the democraps or some commie movement, CNN and the others don't report it at all. You could fill volumes with what is NOT reported on the libtard networks. They purposely cover up all the stupid stuff libtards do.

Do you deny that the evening lineup of Hannity and Carlson (and previously, O'Reilly) is very conservative?

The problem is not just that they are conservative. Trust would be fine. But they lie and distort the truth. That is where the problem comes in.

Dawg80 - like when Rush read Comey's quote and then spun it?

He took the quote out of its context, twisted it, and then spun it. That is just dishonest. That is beyond editorializing.

And now FoxNews slapping their favorite "snowflake" label on an autistic kid. Just shameful.
