OLDBLUE, you are talking to a LIBERAL who is most likely a Democrat. You are wasting your time trying to convince or inform him of anything that makes common sense. They have only ONE VIEW....that they know EVERYTHING and the rest of us know NOTHING!! How sad for them!!!! They live in a fantasy world and will follow Alice down the rabbit hole!!!

Here's my fantasy world.......the rabbit hole is around back. Can't wait until November rolls around so I can gather up some pecans and make myself some pecan pies.

OK, it is really simple. I'm not talking about climate change brought about by natural forces. But we can definitely do something about our activities which put gigatons of CO2 into the carbon cycle. Did you know that merely using solar and wind the USA can provide all the energy that the USA currently needs? We don't have to burn coal, oil or natural gas to power the planet. The Sun provides all the energy we need.

Natural forces can work their will but the results occur over hundreds if not thousands of years. You seem to think that the drastic climate change we are currently experiencing is due to natural processes. That's not the case. What we are experiencing is human activities which have simply over-powered the natural climate equilibrium. The amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere by natural processes is a very, very small percentage of the amount of CO2 that human activities release into the atmosphere.

I just got finished reading this myself (and the supporting research report) and thought this looked like "real science" to me. A bunch of folks getting funding to prove something that gives power to central governments is not, in my opinion "real science".

The research report is in the link below, and except for the guy that got a degree from USL@L, everyone that signed off on the report seem to be legit. The other opinions on the subject seem to be group think. And remember, it is group think right now to believe that Caitlyn Jenner is a beautiful and brave woman (which is most certainly not true).

The paper itself has little scientific content. Using charts taken from climate denier blogs, the authors claim that every temperature record adjustment since the 1980s has been in the warming direction, which is simply false. As Zeke Hausfather pointed out, referencing work by Nick Stokes, roughly half of the adjustments have resulted in cooling and half in warming.
