Inconvenient: World's oceans continue to cool
Next year will be interesting.
However, oceans rule the temperature of the planet, and as this most recent SST shows, there’s a lot of cool water and a clear signature of La Niña shaping up off the coast of South America:
September Sea Surface Temperatures (SSTs) are now available, and we see downward spikes in ocean temps everywhere, led by sharp decreases in the Tropics and SH, reversing the bump upward last month. The Tropical cooling in particular factors into forecasters favoring an unusually late La Nina appearance in coming months.
HadSST is generally regarded as the best of the global SST data sets, and so the temperature story here comes from that source, the latest version being HadSST3.
The chart below shows SST monthly anomalies as reported in HadSST3 starting in 2015 through September 2017.

Hey, but it’s just your kids’ and grandkids’ future. Don’t matter to me.
"Reducing greenhouse gas emissions" is a good thing to do and in fact a Godly thing do. That is good for the planet. But there still is no disastrous or eminent "global warming". It's made up "Fake News and Fake Data" by PC people that have a political agenda which also makes many liberals and liberal/socialist companies very rich.
Then does the reasoning matter if you care for the same result?
ExxonMobil is smart. Just pretend like you agree with the man-made global warming zealots, and they'll leave you alone. See how well it works....even the goofy goosey is defending ExxonMobil.
Real science has yet to make a connection between man's activities and global climate change. YES! humans can eff-up micro-environments....like pollute sections of rivers, lakes, and also cause less-than-desirable air quality above major cities. And, those are problems that need to be, and have been addressed. But, in NO WAY has man's activities affected the GLOBE's CLIMATE! That notion is preposterous. Most people throw those terms around "globe" and "climate" and don't even begin to understand what it takes to actually change climate!!!! To assign such power to humans is laughable.
this i disagree with slightly. as population and industrialization continue to grow, i could imagine us getting to the point that manmade greenhouse gases have an appreciable impact on global climate. fortunately, i think economics will move us away from fossil fuels before we get to that point because they will become more and more expensive to extract.
One mega-volcano spews more crap (greenhouse gases, etc.) into the atmosphere in ONE MONTH than ALL combined human activity generated by the US in 30 years. That volcano that erupted in Iceland about what? about 8-10 years ago now? cranked out crap for 6 months! and then it slowed down for a few months, though still spewing, before finally going dormant again. It, by itself, equaled the ENTIRE history of the US's atmospheric discharge....200 years' worth. Did the climate change? Did the world come to an end? Doesn't appear so. I had gone to Europe during that time and the flight path of our flight had to be altered to avoid the worst of the downwind crap coming out of that volcano.
The worst thing about this religious-zeal of the man-made GW worshipers, and the evil socialist anarchists who pulled their strings, is it diverts attention away from real environmental issues. Like there are 750 million people worldwide who do not have access to dependable sources of clean water. Heck, over 500 water systems in the US are out of compliance with EPA water standards. And that is just drinking water. Just about EVERY municipality in the nation fails to meet EPA standards for tertiary water, which is sewage and industrial discharge back into the environment.
There are real problems....those with real solutions...but, no, let's focus on the big hoax that humans can alter the climate of a planet! Given that, why don't we just go to Mars and alter the climate there, and then we can start settling on it. Why not? Mars is not as big as Earth, so if we humans can change the Earth's climate, should be easy to alter Mars'.
