    The NFL

The "Notoriously F_ _ _ ed up League"

So...if Brees goes free agency after the 2017 season, then the Saints will be saddled with a $38 million hit against the salary cap for 2018...for a player who will be playing elsewhere!!

Yeah, I know, this is not unique to Brees, or the Saints (who currently are carrying a $21 million hit for former players). But it is still effed-up. I suppose the reason for this stupid-azz rule is to prevent (discourage) teams from dumping over-paid veterans just to clear salary cap room for younger players. Teams have a one-year salary cap burden regardless.

The NFL is the last of the old-school professional sports I still follow. I haven't watched a combined 60 mins of Major League Baseball (except last year's WS) and NBA combined over the past, probably, 3 years or so. The NFL is on the verge of joining the "I-don't-give-a-crap" club for me. I've already lost a lot of interest. For instance, I used to enjoy hating on the Cowgirls! Now, I couldn't care less if they win or lose. The opposite of love is NOT hate. It's indifference.

    My new favorite sport is:

    Women's Beach Volleyball!!!

    Re: The NFL

The lack of a cap (and the presence of the promotion system) doesn't seem to have affected European soccer. Always was odd to me that in this area, the US is far more socialist.
