He's basically hoping to get a spot on the Rockets developmental team...which Jaron Johnson and Michale Kyser happen to play on.

Bad news for McCree is the Rockets also signed a more highly rated SF from Georgetown LJ Peak.
Odds that an undrafted free agent ever gets a roster spot in the NBA are slim to none. Difficult enough for second round picks.
NFL 1.93% NBA about 6.0%

Those numbers got me curious.
What exactly are those percentages? Percentage of players on rosters who were UDFAs? Or percentage of UDFAs who actually make rosters? Because those are two very different things.
I'd also be curious as to how many of the NBA UDFAs are foreigners.
The NBA is definitely the toughest major pro league to make it in.
McCree was a 3rd round talent, but the problem is the NBA obviously doesn't have a 3rd round. In the NFL and MLB, everybody praises 3rd round picks as high selections.
I think that's the kicker - probably a very high percentage of that # is foreign players who sign as Undrafted Free agents
That number is percentage on active rosters - nba should be higher because their are 60? picks annually and fewer slots to fill which translates into a higher percentage -
