    Got a guy

Hey all: I'm coaching up here in Canada. Got a 19 year old stud LB/SS I want to introduce to coaches. He's from TN, 5'11", 215, absolute tacking machine with an edge. Just ran a laser timed 4.55 today. He'd play right now at Tech, at the very a special team demon at first. How can I give the heads up?

probably going to latechsports.com and getting a coach's email address and then sending an email....much better odds than coming to a fan web page

In all honesty, he sounds too small to play LB at this level. Small, but fast. Might be perfect for special team kick & punt coverage. Contact the coaches.

Has he already graduated or will he be a senior this year? I've always got a reply from Tim Rattay on recruits that I emailed him about, so, I'd try him first. Sounds like a good player. Has he ever played RB? Do you have any video?

plus we have had a lot of success with "little guys" at Tech. Put some weight on and find a position for him....

thanks for showing CanadaDawg the respect he deserves -- I am pretty sure he's been told the why not's by many folks--assume he has Tech relationship

That's really an optimum size for HS lb's. He can add 15-25 pounds and be an ideal LB for Tech. Thanks for sharing up there!!

How can you say that when he is bigger than a LB that got PT last year (Dae'von Washington), is bigger than a highly touted LB recruit that redshirted last year (Devin Hamilton), and is the same height and 9 lbs lighter than our BEST linebacker, senior Russell Farris?

You should educate yourself on your team, HD

I knew somebody would say that. And I really don't care what you think....it's too small to play at this level. You need to educate yourself on FBS football, Dix6.

Do you think just because LA Tech has LB's that small that "small LB's" are suddenly in vogue? People on this board have complained about our LB production for the last 5 years.

Overall Defense: LA Tech Ranked #71 (Averaged Giving up 421 yds per game). And that's after playing a pretty weak schedule.

Lack of size at the LB position was the problem with the defense??

Are you coaching Canadian Junior?? I'm in Nanaimo and could hit up some games when you play the Raiders.

you say he is too small, I prove you wrong and you still try and be right? Give it a rest man. Learn the team before you say who can be on it.

Dalton Santos has size. nick Thomason had size. Brandon Durman has size. Those guys he t killed in the spread offenses we play routinely. Our best backers have been Jordan Harris, Terrell Pinson, Russell Farris, Beau Fitte. Athletic guys that can play in space. A 5'11 215 19 year old running a LASER TIMED 4.55 will never be turned down by a G5 program...

Aahh....key words there is, a "G5 program". In other words, EVEN YOU readily admit that while this small size LB may work at some G5 schools, it's far more common place to see LB's that are BIGGER than this at most of the P5 schools. BIGGER and faster is what we want, not smaller.

If you can't recruit the bigger LB's, just admit your weakness and say so. Don't make up a bunch of nonsense about smaller being better in FBS football for G5 schools......that's just silly talk.

Don't be like that. I will take a short player over a player an inch or two taller if he is better at the position. Size isn't everything, and if you start judging players on their height, acting like we are too good for them, we will pass over good players. We have plenty undersized players who excell.
