I don't think so. BYU would've also needed another team to join with them that didn't decrease each current member's piece of the revenue pie. TV networks ended up begging the Big 12 not to expand because there was not a pair of schools that would've increased the conference's value.

You may not agree with their beliefs, but they are more consistent than many Christian denominations.
Again, they are consistent.
Houston was ready. Everybody assumed they didn't want Houston. They'd have taken BYU/Houston if BYU had not been insistent on the "not Sunday gurantee". Many don't believe BYU would turn it down for that, but you have to admire them sticking to what they believe. Also, they have their own network that they were probably not will to bargain away.
Y'all need to stop talking about Tech getting in the Big 12 or any other P5 conference. You sound like usl. I know it's all in fun, and is only a pipe dream, but a stupid poll on the internet is no indicator that any P5 conference would even consider Tech at this point in time.
There....I've said it.

Every student has to meet the honor code. Athletes aren't treated differently. If any student is accused of premarital sex (or using drugs, alcohol, tobacco or caffeine), gets arrested, or breaks any of the other rules, that student is put under investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, if found guilty, the punishment can range from counseling to a warning to suspension or even expulsion.

They could always use the defense that what they did was not near as bad as what Joseph Smith and Brigham Young did. Smith raped 32 women, one of them a 14 year old, and Young raped 55 women. Young was also responsible for murdering 120 settlers from Arkansas on their way to California.
