IMO, a net addition of seats to JAS is not a good ROI. It looks better and it is something I want, but we have to spend something on TitleIX now or the PC crowd will get upset.

Unfortunately, when they removed the seating wings a few years ago, they did a half-ass job on each side, and left the current stadium seating imbalanced. The Joe still needs new bath rooms, concessions, retail, etc....long before the administration spends money on a toy like an IPR, that probably offers a zero ROI.
This. Removing the metal wings in the northeast and northwest corners and building concrete sections in each of the four corners of the stadium to match the rest of the stadium should be the first priority. Leaving those sections in place after this season will make the athletic department and the university look small time.

I know some on this board want us to expand by building in the north endzone, but the cost of doing that is triple than simply building in the four corners of the stadium.

If we can't afford to build then tear the metal wings down altogether and bring capacity down to 24,000. t's like the old track bleachers. Getting rid of them altogether was better than leaving them in place.

NCAA ruling becoming available and Ole Miss hit with future sanctions. Postseason ban next year and additional scholarship reductions. Freeze also received a suspension and show cause penalty. No specifics on number of additional scholarships lost or the length of the suspension or show cause.

NCAA sanctions are so dumb. Punish coaches, punish admin, don’t take away scholarships that allow kids to attend a school they really want to attend. Making them transfer to another, possibly lesser program or school is not helping the kids.

Making them transfer? Are they even allowed to transfer out? If not they should be. IMO, that would be the ultimate sanction...allowing athletes to transfer out with no penalty when a school is hit.

I assumed the scholarship hits would be toward incoming classes not existing 'ships.

Only rising seniors can transfer out without having to sit out a year. Scholarship penalties are toward incoming classes. Also hit with a two-year show cause is Chris Kiffin, Lanes brother and defensive coordinator at FAU. Not sure what that will detail as he already has that job.

I didn’t realize the ships could only be withheld from incoming players. However, I guess that would really make your school look like a bunch of jerks if you pulled some ships to pass them down to incoming kids.

Hitting schools with reduction of scholarship #'s gets their attention like nothing else -

I actually think it should be used to a greater extent and more often

Just ask USC. When they got hit, there was a point where they only had 54 players on the sidelines suited up for a season. It completely knocked the wind out of them.
