After Meeting with North Korea Official, Donald Trump Says Kim Jong-un Summit is Happening
The president spoke to reporters after meeting in the Oval Office with Kim Yong-chol,
the highest-ranking official to visit the White House since a meeting with Bill Clinton in 2000.
While watching FoxNews coverage of the events in Singapore, I think it is appropriate to first remember our past...

October 26, 2008. Sean Hannity states, when indentifying his Number 2 reason (out of 10) for not voting for Obama:
“One of the most disturbing displays of Obama's lack of foreign policy expertise came during last year's YouTube debate," "The junior senator from Illinois gave what many called a naive answer for a question from the audience about whether he would meet with the leaders of Syria, Venezuela, Cuba or North Korea without preconditions."
What is Hannity saying tonight?
A deal stating the following would be a success:
1) Verifiable denuclearize of N. Korea (the real sticking point) verified by American troops and/or nuclear specialist and NATO
2) Destruction of all of their nukes within 1-2 years with X number destroyed every 3 months.
3) No plane loads of cash in unmarked bills delivered to N. Korea in the dead of night like Obama's giving to Iranian Mullahs.
4) No offers to allow N. Korea access into our Banking and Financial systems like Obama
5) A Verifiable correction of their terrible human rights record and prison systems verified by the same as in #1 above.
6) We give them nothing but allow them free trade with other countries and America as well as allow a free flow of critical medicines badly needed in hopes of their becoming the next Singapore or S. Korea
7) Allow Christian missionaries to freely enter the country to bring the "Good News" to a spiritually starving people and to change hearts.
8) If all of the above happens, we will promise not to nuke the crappola out of you and your country.
Who, is that the boogeyman under your bed? And I haven't seen where this is "without preconditions." Norks have committed in theory to denuke and have released American prisoners. They tried to balk on the denuking and Trump walked away last month, funny thing to do if there are no preconditions.
So you need a deal right now? And, might I ask your thoughts on any potential deal being run through the Senate as has been stated from the admin?
Definitely not good enough that he is getting people released without giving up the farm. Also not good enough if he walks away from the table if the crazy midget wants to alter the deal before the meeting even starts.
I don’t trust either one of them, but, of course, I hope it is successful in denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
I trust Trump here, but think he is letting ambition and ego get ahead of practicality, much like Obama did with Iran. Unlike that "deal", I am pleased that he is committed to bringing the whole mess to the senate for review instead of just cutting a personal deal between him, other nations and the North Koreans.
I am still pessimistic that this will lead to anything. Seems to me NK has worked too long and hard to become a nuclear threat to just give it up when they finally get it figured out.
Of course, when I was at Tech the USSR still existed and there were two separate Germanys, so stranger things have happened.
Reports are the NKs are cheating and backsliding on all those promises they just made. It's one thing for them to say, well, give us time we only just agreed to those conditions a month ago. That would be okay. But reports are they have gone out of their way to renew construction on some nuclear bomb facility. This has been their MO for years/decades.
Of course, I heard this on Fox News, so it's probably not true...
So, little Kim is cheating on the agreement. Unfortunately this was expected. Now Trump cancels Pompeo's trip, much to the chagrin of the NOKOs. They are like...."what? why?" Why? Because you are not adhering to the agreement and President Trump means what he says. This is not weak-azz obummer or some previous Deep Stater prez who will just shrug his shoulders with a "Oh well."
Now some libs are relishing in this "failure." Well, it's NOT a failure because the game isn't over. And!!! some libs, including the leader of some women's organization, is calling for severe military action to eliminate the Kim regime. Wow! such hawkish behavior from a lib. I think it's a poorly laid trap, hoping Trump will start a war with NOKO and then these very libs calling for action will say, Oh no, not us, that was all Trump who started the war.
Trump is miles ahead of them and won't take such obviously transparent bait. More importantly little Kim is learning it's not business as usual in DC.
