I associate judgment with common sense and the world seems to have less and less good judgment, which you appear to ridicule -- anyone who believes in "do onto others " will usually use their good judgment to do the right thing , most basic of religious belief.

Take a second and google Mathew 6.6 -- several other passages that you might find interesting

It seems odd that people who choose not to believe want to make sure that those that do believe are limited in expressing their faith to others. If one doesn't believe in something, why do they even care that others do. It doesn't make sense to me.

Most don't. But, anti-religion in general and anti-Christian in particular has a political agenda attached to it. The globalists, the "one-worlders" who are aligned with communists, have to eliminate religion, especially Christianity. Then you make the new "god" government. Get the masses to "worship" guvmint!

Now that the worst of the weather peril appears to be over for most of us in SE Texas, a lot of credit is due for officials and first responders (including vast numbers of volunteers) for the preparations and response to Harvey. The result could have been much worse had it broken down at any level - public or private. But the results also seem to corroborate the right decision was made not to evacuate. The good news is that we seem to be taking lessons learned from each disaster and applying it to subsequent ones.

Hopefully, Irma will prove to be another example of progress in preparation and response. Each storm poses its own challenge, though.

People are evacuating Florida in droves. Getting out is always a good idea. Minimizes casualties, makes it easier for emergency crews to respond to true emergencies.

If the mayor of Houston was a Republican we would still be hearing what a horrible decision it was not to evacuate. How many deaths now? 60? All 60 are some Republican's fault.

    Re: Harvey

Some outsiders don't appreciate how Houston's roads turn to rivers when we get a lot of rain. Getting caught on our roads would be one of the worst possible scenarios.
