Running radar on I-20 in Ruston is strictly an overtime gig. Doubtful it's guys on regular patrol. I-20 is the prime location for the "LACE" program where officers are paid OT to write tickets. The optics of doing it as fans come into town are bad.

I believe LACE is only open to Sheriff's Office and LSP...

It's been going on since back in the spring at least. City Police giving speeding tickets on the interstate is never a good or smart thing politically. Makes me wonder if the elected police chief is not on the same page as the elected mayor. The police chief is elected right?

Lol, actually since 1965, give or take a year. My dad got a ticket at that very spot on one of the few times we went to a game when i was in high school. Only one he ever got in his life. After 40 years he'd still comment almost every time he came that way after that. Could have been state police--don't remember that detail.
