    A) NSU has overall better musicians. It's a music school. They have a lot more performance and music majors. NSU is to Music as Tech is to engineering. It's easier to recruit serious musicians there vs Tech. It's a little harder for Tech but it's achievable to find good musicians even good non-music majors. I've played with some non-music majors at Tech who could outplay some of the states best. Continuing to recruit Texas is key.
    B) Tech can be much louder if we can increase 35 more brass members. 10 Tbones, 10 trumpets, 5 melos, 5 tubas, 5 btones. (15 University provided horns of tuba, melo, btones). I think a university our size should have a band around 230-250.
    C) I like the bands growth. We are on the right track.

Some of you are prone to exaggeration. Took me all of 5 seconds to find this. Just saying.....
Like I said, there are cheaper options if you want to sacrifice sound quality and durability.

Plus you have to get them dry cleaned after every game.

It's a win-win situation for LA Tech. Tech either gets a very winnable and well attended 2 for 1 series with another FBS school only 30 miles away, or we finally get the local media off our back about the subject. It's a take it or leave it offer.
It makes sense. The last game played was at Monroe. We should start and end the series in Ruston. Just write the contract up and send it in the mail. Done. If they don't accept it, then it's on them.

ist price is a different story. But for the actual price, I could by a Kia Rio, a ford Fiesta, a Hyundai Accect, a Chevy Spark, a Smartcar, a Fiat, a Nissan Versa, a Toyota Yaris, or a Chevy Sonic...all new.

You'll notice that NSU had the instruments above in their front ensemble, plus many more. You'll notice Tech no longer has a front ensemble...and hasn't for well over a decade.

So, I think it's safe to assume that we settled the cost of a car vs a band horn question.
By the way...I never said "horn." We are talking about marching band instruments...as you pointed out. The list cost of that field marimba is $23,745. The list cost of the timpani is $28,062. Assuming you want to compare to the MSRP of that Camry. So yes, in accordance with the terms I posted, we settled it.

I can do without the fancy percussion instruments, although they would be nice. But please give us more horns. Our BOP sounds like the volume button is turned down.

Yup, I never liked a percussion pit for college band. It's not Drum Corp International.

What I like is a lot of brass, loud drums, and screaming trumpets. Just emulate USC Marching Trojans and we should be fine.

Drum lines are a bore and drown what little melody the rest of the band can make.
