'I am very disillusioned, very upset, and very surprised,' says veteran

Amid cries of outrage, a decade of tradition is ending at the University of Virginia this year as the college decided to cancel its Veterans Day 21-gun salute to veterans.
"I am very disillusioned, very upset, and very surprised that they would make such a decision," veteran Jay Levine said, according to WHSV.
Levine, who went through the college's ROTC program, said the 21-gun salute is an appropriate way to honor the nation's veterans.

Elementary school features drag-queen speaker with prostitution record

There has been controversy after controversy in recent months as schools, libraries and other public venues have held events at which drag queens read stories to children.
Police even arrested a pastor in Washington state who showed up at a "Drag Queen Story Hour" at a public library.


But it's gotten worse, according to a report in Tony Perkins' Washington Update from the Family Research Council, with prostitutes invited to address young elementary-school children.
"If it's OK for drag queens to host story hour, what about prostitutes? At one Austin, Texas elementary school, students got both!" Perkins said. "In what some parents are calling 'a sign of things to come' under the city's radical new sex ed, the kids at Blackshear Fine Arts Academy had an unexpected visitor – with an even more unexpected background. But as shocked as parents were to learn that 'Miss Kitty Litter ATX' was a convicted criminal, they were even more horrified to find out that the school district knew it!"


He said an open-records request submitted by Texas Values showed that the school librarian Roger Grape had been in communication with David Robinson, who appears on stage as Miss Kitty Litter.
Blackshear exposed "their children to this wild and deviant ideology" but also exposed them "to a felon."

District Abandons ‘A-F’ Grades to Cut Stress





A school district in Madison, Wisconsin, has made the controversial decision to abandon the common “A to F” grading system based in favor of a system that is “kinder” to students. Now, top students will be graded as “exceeding” while failing students will be “emerging.”

According to a report by the College Fix, the Madison Metropolitan School District has announced that they are doing away with the traditional “A-F” grading system in favor of a new system that is gentle on students.

I guess it fits. These little delicate flowers are just emerging. But as soon as it heats up a little, they die without being given, and receiving nourishment. Hhmmm. My thought is they will wither when it gets hot because they won’t have any roots or nutrients.

36-year-old calls 911 after parents cut off cellphone...


CANTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio woman was arrested for calling 911 when her parents cut off her cellphone service, authorities said.
Seloni Khetarpal was arrested Feb. 13 by Massillon police and charged with disrupting police services, a fourth-degree felony, The Canton Repository reported.
Jail records show that Khetarpal, 36, repeatedly called emergency dispatchers because her parents had terminated her cellphone service, which they paid for.

An officer contacted her and advised she call emergency services only for emergencies.
Two hours later, she called again and “was belligerent and stated she believed it to be a legitimate issue,” according to jail records.
Court records do not list an attorney who could speak on Khetarpal’s behalf.
