Looks like Tech's DC Baker and USC's HC Muschamp know each other from their time at Texas in 2010.
Texas (2010)
Blake Baker (GA Defense)
Will Muschamp (DC/LB)
who is the better managed program?? SC has athletic debt of 186 million!! they pay Muschamp 3 million yr . they just got a $5 million media bonus, $40 million SEC/NCAA annual pay . $21 million in ticket sales a $122 plus athletic budget. Been a long time since they were relevant ... that debt is not going away anytime soon ... we are a small town program -- beat Alabama twice and ole Miss last time we played them ... we operate on peanuts but I am proud of La Tech -- oddsmakers seem to have a lot of respect for Tech-- about 10 point spread vs a program with $122 million sports budget
That's not too much athletic debt -
A lot of the bigger programs are running $500mm or more - including LSU, Bama and Tx A&M
They have won a baseball NC in recent years and made the men's basketball team made the Final Four under Frank Martin last year and their wbb program is a regular participant - not counting what Holtz and Spurrier did on the gridiron
If anything - I would say that they are an undervalued program at the A5 level

Just a quick search reveals that TAF has debt close to $400mm on construction projects that totaled $450mm - yet they only have liquid assets of about $10mm...
There is a reason they hired Orgeron and had to pass on Herman and was passed on by Fisher - they are cash poor with the buyouts and long-term debt service

I moved to Columbia, SC about a year and a half ago and I've been talking trash ever since looking forward to this game. Let's go Dogs!!!
I'll be there with 4 friends I convinced to make the trip for me. We'll be tailgating in the State Fair parking lot ($30), I believe.
Kentucky beat Southern Miss by just one touchdown this season: 24-17. Kentucky beat South Carolina 23-13. I kinda like our chances at a possible upset on the road....just saying
“Towie Barclay of the Glen, Happy to the maids, But never to the men.”
Add in the fact that USC forced Lou to remove Skip as OC when he was at Carolina - I think Skip will go in there with a huge chip on his shoulder and the team will be ready...

IF we can take care of the football, I like our chances to be in it till the end.
