More like turn off Trump for using the sacrifice of our military for politics of division and his own perceived political gain.
Haven’t watched a single game since the saints started sucking again.
These protesting Americans are doing exactly what the American military fought to enable them to do. And in doing so they are advocating for America to be all that it can be for all Americans. It is not a sign of disrespect for the military; rather it is a sign of protest to American governments that are not doing all that they can to make the protesters' part of America as great as the America of those who deride the players' protest.
And sure, you are free to mobilize against it, but doing so would be small minded and unvirtuous.
I'll be watching Calgary at Saskatchewan at 3:00 on ESPN2 after the ECU-Connecticut game is done on ESPNU.
How about the "protesters" go ride with cops on some night shifts?
NFL players have a perfect right to protest...on their own time.
If I tried to protest in a similar way during my work hours, I would be fired on the spot and would deserve it. NFL players are no different.
If the NFL had a real backbone (such as Pete Rozelle), this would have been nipped in the bud last year with player fines or suspensions.
What these players don't seem to understand is that they are strangling the golden goose that is paying their salaries. NFL ratings are in the tank and will only continue to get worse.
Just strikes me as a poor way to protest the stated grievances...
I watch the saints until they crap the bed in the 3rd, then I'm usually finished with the NFL for the week.
Right! by protesting "the flag" and the National Anthem they are impugning the nation as a whole. That means everything America stands for. By extension, it's an attack on Americans. You mean there is a problem, or problems, so egregious that millionaires who play a child's game are motivated to call attention to it, and by doing so, are making the statement that "Americans" have failed to address said problems? Really? Funny that these same morons are effing MILLIONAIRES PLAYING A CHILD'S GAME! Yeah, sounds like they have every reason to be upset.
Nah! this is the greatest nation on Earth and the greatest in all of history (with ancient Greece a close second). The so-called "problems" they cite are not problems at all. And, also, the truth is the vast majority of Americans agree with me. This is all another attempt by the anarchists, led by that Nazi George Soros, to undermine the USA and bring total chaos to the world's political/economic system. Anyone who knowingly, or just through ignorance, supports this movement is supporting Nazism and one-worldism.
There is no better nation to live in as a non-Hispanic white Christian. That is true.
Why would it be small minded and unvirtuous to mobilize AGAINST the protesters who stood for the BRITISH national anthem today in London, but would not stand for the AMERICAN national anthem played in the same venue? I don't agree with that kind of behavior. I think their behavior is childish, petulant, and ignorant of everything our flag and nation stands for. I have a right to say what I think just like they do.
Standing for the British national anthem only goes to show you the outright ignorance of these "player protestors". Britain was built on the backs of slaves and has long embraced a social class system that --like many of us-- these players would likely never be able to live and thrive comfortably in. They stood for THAT?
I wonder if those same "football player" protesters --who have it better in America than literally anywhere in the world-- would agree to MOVE to England? Oh wait....no NFL there? That shouldn't be a problem, if they really believe in their cause. Let's see how badly they really want to take a stand.
