... and it has nothing to do with Kaepernick, Trump or the anthem. None of them are mentioned in that article.

The problem with ESPN isn't declining viewership from NFL games but declining viewership period. Cord cutting has been killing them for the last few years. The NFL is the only tether to traditional television for a lot of prospective cord cutters. I suspect Monday night football eventually ends up on Amazon, Twitter or Facebook as more modern content providers. The end is near for traditional networks. This article is part of that ongoing narrative.

Me too. It is better for consumers. The only caveat is that as people consume what they want, they simply will refuse to listen to any perspective other than their own even when another perspective would be good for them to consider. This could have very very bad consequences as a whole down the road. In fact, I would argue that the whole Trump phenomenon is impossible without our having traveled down that path some.

I thought that was somewhat interesting. Our country is so divided, I would think you wouldn't want to give people a reason to put you with the "other side" if you are in business. I am sure it is hurting them though, and the $70 million paper loss is significant only if he is cashing in, but still a very large number.
