YOUR most gut-wrenching loss as a Louisiana Tech fan?

For a little catharsis, I'm opening up the floor for we grieving Tech fans to share a horrible memory of our most gut-wrenching loss.

Mine was the 1985 Sweet 16 Mens' Basketball game. Watching Wayman Tisdale's toilet-bowl-rim shot roll and roll and roll...and sink in.....and Oklahoma defeats Tech and goes on to a Final 4. UUUGGGHHHH

Saturday in Carolina was pretty bad, however, but there have been worse....like the Utah State loss with Orange Bowl officials in the stands...

The University of Houston's 35-34 comeback win in Sept 2011 was LA Tech's most "gut-wrenching" home loss of all time, in my opinion. Tech led 34-14 going into the 4th Qtr, and at one time led 34-7 with 5:11 left in the 3rd Qtr. Tech gave up 4 straight, unanswered TD's and PAT's to the Cougars. I believe Houston was nationally ranked #15 at the time.

The UH meltdown was horrible, for sure. Worst than yesterday's, except for the fact the SC loss is present-day. The UH loss is just sad history.

The Utah State loss in 2012 has to rank up there near the top. We rallied from 24 pts down to force OT, only to lay an egg in OT. Yes, the Orange Bowl was there for the taking. Given the consequences of that result, that loss is truly one of the worst in Tech football history.

wrote a long ass boring response but deleted --figure no one would care..

NOT even close--1 game changed the flow of Tech football for a period of time.. Our history with Northeast is 29-14 but they won 6 out of 8 games when we did not hire pat Collins. he ratted us out to NCAA for minor offense.
THE ED JACKSON BOWL. Collins came in to Ruston with Northeast and 23,000 fans saw them destroy us 35-0 . horrible but for nest 7 years they only lost to us 2 times to us. we fired our coach before first year was over . can think of no game that was more embarrassing ...we did not start beating Northeast again till they let Collins go (?spousal abuse)

Utah State would have been worse if we had beaten San Jose the next week.

The Hawaii game when Moats was averaging 8 ypc and we took the ball out of his hands on 2nd and short, then third and short, then we missed a 52 yarder.

It was brutal. Can't remember the year, but it was a home game.

Not guarding the in-bounds pass underneath your opponents goal with 0.3 seconds left.

UH was the worst game I have attended, as a fairly fresh Tech fan (enrolled 2010). I've been to many more horribly played games than should be possible in such a short time, but even the NWSt debacle wasn't that bad. NWSt played us pretty hard the whole game, so there was plenty of time to prepare for what was coming (besides, at that point I'd seen enough Tech games to know where it was going).

Of course, the USU game was pretty terrible, watching us run three straight draw plays for no yards in OT.

UH and USU back-to-back years were top 2 for me. Had we beaten USU, I'm sure the players would have been more motivated and beaten SJU

Agreed, especially since NC took more than 0.3 seconds
