Skip said South Alabama's starting QB was injured in first game and has been out ever since. He is due back this week.
Good old Memorial Gym
It should be about #38 since Minden is about #42

My business partner rolled thru the "Minden Project" yesterday and said one lane open on each side but they rolled thru without issue. Of course that is Monday evening vs Saturday game day.
Add this to the fact that they just fired their OC and who knows what we can expect offensively from South Alabama on Saturday. We've performed really well against Sun Belt competition in our last few matchups. I hope we're not due for an "Oh Crap" game like we had against NW State a few years ago. I'm thinking that South Alabama will play with all out determination against us. We better be ready for tough, physical game.
I agree. I've said all season that this team CAN'T SCORE. Too often this team drives the ball 60+ yards, and then settles for a FG, or turns the ball over. In fairness --and unlike many of our CUSA brethren-- we've played 3 tough defenses, 2 from the SEC and of course WKU.
I'm hoping the "step down" in competition will result in us seeing a drastic improvement in our red zone success.
I think our SOS is at 38? right now where as UTSA's is in the 200s

So, USA will show up with a new or without an OC but with their #1 QB, What to expect. I would bet some kind of goofy trick play very early in their first offensive series. Last year Mullins and their #2 QB showed out early with some kind of trick play very early the first series I believe and we were off balance the rest of the game. This year, Northwestern very early on with a trick play, western Kentucky with an early trick play, and I believe MSU pulled one also, is there a trend here? We do not seem to defend these plays well, the success rate for these plays I don't believe is very good, except when used against TECH.
Correct me if I am wrong on these, but is USA watches any game film, they will know where to start.
I don't think MSU's trick play worked. We had them in the first quarter. WKU scared me with their first play. You are correct, we play pretty straight up defense and these can throw us off. I guess doing it on the first play can throw many teams off, though. We need to be prepared against USA, because I suspect they will do anything they can to pull a trick out of their hat.
